I finally managed to get tickets to a Cold War Kids show before it sold out – in San Francisco. I have family and friends in SF, so it gave me a good excuse to visit them. The only other band I’ve driven further to see is The Tubes (and that was in Napa, so not too much further). I went with my friend and SF native Lauren-Michelle who is my partner-in-crime when it comes to road trips and adventures. The show was practically a religious experience. For some reason even though I worked at his record label for almost 3 years, and I’ve been a fan since the start of his career, I had never seen Mat Kearney live. Just one of those things. Always out of town, sick, something came up, etc. Well, I finally got to see him live last night. And meet him! Yay. Show was amazing and my friends at Inpop hooked me up with tickets and a photo pass (which came in handy because The Mayan is one hella strict venue when it comes to photos!)
